It all began in the house of Hance Lawson in 1810. A simple prayer meeting birthed what became the fellowship of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield, Maryland. Through its extensive history, Asbury has experienced boom from revivals, building from increased attendees, and too many churches accidentaly burned to the ground from which the people overcame.

Today, the people of Asbury still maintain the spirit of triumph through the power of God's leading. Worship is woven into the fabric of this people through traditional and contemporary styles of music, Word, and sacrament. Helping people in the community is the driving force through which Asbury seeks to make an impact on its neighbor. Taking care of the fellowship of believers takes places through Bible studies, small groups, and youth group.
